Priscilla at Velveteen Rabbit | Creative Styled Photoshoot

In the heart of Las Vegas, where the neon lights meet a touch of vintage allure, a collaborative-styled shoot came to life. Monique from Winston Marie Cakes and I, joined forces to curate a visual masterpiece that pays homage to the glamour of old-school Victorian vibes and the iconic love story of Elvis and Priscilla Presley. Choosing the Velveteen Rabbit as our backdrop was a deliberate decision. This whimsical bar provided the perfect blend of gothic moody parlor vibes and a vintage pink patio that transported us back in time. Every corner of this eclectic venue served as a canvas for our artistic expression, allowing us to weave together the elements of old-world charm and modern luxury.

Our shared love for high fashion, vintage aesthetics, and Sophia Coppola's Marie Antoinette film served as the creative fuel for this project. The inspiration, however, went beyond the cinematic realm as we eagerly anticipated the release of Coppola's upcoming film, Priscilla. The main focus of our shoot was the character Priscilla, but we couldn't resist the allure of Elvis and Priscilla Presley's wedding. Putting a modern spin on their classic ceremony, Monique skillfully recreated their famous wedding cake, complete with a vintage cake topper that echoed the timeless romance of the King and his Queen.

Being a lover of many things analog, I wanted to honor the vintage essence of this shoot and the era it originates from by capturing moments in both digital and film formats. Ultimately, I’m glad I did because it really feels like both mediums added a unique texture to our visual story, blending the crisp clarity of digital photography with the nostalgic warmth and fuzz of film.

Beyond the aesthetics, our goal was to inspire couples considering eloping in Las Vegas. Through this styled shoot, we aimed to showcase alternative ways to celebrate love in a city known for its quick weddings. We wanted to break free from the stereotypical Vegas wedding image and present a more sophisticated and personalized approach, encouraging couples to explore diverse options for their special day.
