Visiting Mt. Charleston on New Years Day 2021 | Las Vegas, NV

Happy New Year: 2021!

2020 was a weirdass year and we all probably agree that it shouldn’t count.. but here we are anyway: 2021! And I’m at least grateful that Fern and I, as well as most of my family, came out relatively unscathed, unlike so many other people did last year.

Fernando and I haven’t really done much on New Years for a while. Honestly, New Years has been bumming me out for the last couple years. But this year, with being locked inside all of the time, we wanted to go somewhere or do something. So where do you go when you have nothing better to do in Vegas and you want to go see nature? You go hang out at Mt. Charleston! 😬

We decided to head out somewhere around 8 AM so we didn’t (hopefully) catch too many people at the mountain. We figured everyone else would probably have the same idea and end up going to Mt. Charleston.

We jammed out to some Alice in Chain and Unplugged albums in the car and made our way over to the mountain. We live on the East/ South side of Vegas so it really didn’t take us long to get there. What really tripped me out is seeing the moon so big and out over by the mountains! We hardly get snow in the city but if you go at the right time, you’ll find it in the desert and the outskirts by the mountains.
